WGES Grizzly Fest

It's Grizzly Fest - our annual back-to-school celebration hosted by the WGES PTO!
Grizzly Fest is a carnival-style event that is open to all of our Grizzly sleuth, families, and friends. The evening will be packed with family-friendly games, inflatables, activities, concessions, food trucks & more!
Not only is Grizzly Fest a wildly good time, it's also an opportunity to support our school, meet friends - both old and new! - and kick off the new school year with a blast (of fun)!
The more you play, the more money we can give back to our growing Grizzly students and school!

How to Play
Grizzly Fest Tickets
Like any good old-fashioned carnival, Grizzly Fest runs on tickets. Each student is given a few free tickets to get them started, but families are encouraged to pre-purchase enough tickets to play all of the games! Tickets will also be available for purchase at the event.
Each game or activity will "cost" a certain amount of tickets and "prices" will be released ahead of time, so you and your student(s) can decide how many tickets to buy. This is a great way to help your students with money concepts, "budgeting," and giving back, because don't forget! - all proceeds go back into improving our school, celebrating our teachers, and building up our students!

How to Play
Grizzly Fest Prize Drawing
A BIG highlight of Grizzly Fest is the Grizzly Fest Prize Drawing!
But what is it?
Step into the gym and you will discover the most exciting, themed prize displays packed with amazing goodies. Students can enter for a chance to win their favorite prize package by placing their tickets into the drawing box for that display.
Past prize packages have included a Nintendo Switch® with games and bean bags, outdoor games (cornhole, ladder toss, giant Jenga, etc), backyard movie night bundles complete with a projector and screen, popcorn makers, candy, and so much more!
To help make these prize packages possible, we ask each family to consider a suggested donation of $25 per student.* Every contribution helps us create exciting prize displays while supporting this beloved Grizzly Fest tradition.
Prize Drawing tickets are $3 each, and every student receives one free ticket to enter their first drawing. Purchase additional tickets to increase your chances of taking home one of the incredible prize packages!
Prize Drawing winners will be announced at the conclusion of Grizzly Fest. Winners must present the Golden Ticket they receive during the drawing to claim their prize. We kindly ask that all prizes be picked up before leaving the festival that evening.
*Amounts contributed in excess of prize costs will be applied to general PTO funds in support of our school.
Cake Decorating Contest
Grab your icing and sprinkles, the annual Cake Decorating Contest is a Grizzly Fest tradition! Bring your cake and (filled out!) entry form to school in a disposable container by 9 a.m. on September 18.
Cakes will be judged in the following categories:

Students will vote on the finalists selected by our Cafeteria Staff, with winners chosen in each category. All entries will be displayed for students to view during Grizzly Fest and will then be available as prizes in the CakeWalk. Winning cakes will not be available as a prize.

Get Involved
Volunteer at Grizzly Fest!
Grizzly Fest is also one of the easiest—and most fun—ways to get involved at WGES! Whether you have a few hours, 30 minutes, or just a creative idea to share, there's a place for everyone to help.
Volunteer opportunities include creating decorations before the event, assisting with setup, running a game or activity during the festival, selling tickets, or helping with cleanup at the end of the night. Every volunteer plays an important role in making Grizzly Fest a memorable experience for our students and families.
You can let us know you're interested in volunteering at the beginning of the school year, or watch for specific volunteer opportunities throughout the year in the Grizzly Blast newsletter. Many hands make light work—and we can't do it without our amazing Grizzly community!
